Basically

Basically all that remains of issue 28 is the color for backcover. Still need to go through the material and all that, but basically it's all done.
The plan is to get 7 issues out each year and now it looks possible. BUT: before I can move on to issue 29 I have to do a two-row strip for Ilta sanomat & do some extra material for a forthcoming collection of the yleisönosasto comic I did with Riikka Ala-Harja some while back. AND the first Läskimooses spin off comic book is under way. Drawn and written by Leo Kuikka this mini series brings a new angle to the main story.

And almost I forgot the Le Dernier Cri book I'm to do or at least to get started with. Boy!

Issue 28 almost done. Couple of pages still require some work and the collages need to be glued together. And i need to go through all the pages and see if all's in order. Started to work with the collages today:

From time to time

From time to time I notice I've written something I find is not quite right and then I have to think out a way to incorporate that into the story. Usually this means an extra issue. AND this just happened. I could also perhaps wait until the thing is all finished, but then again...there's something these sort of things bring to the writing. When I was starting this thing I was thinking a lot about telling stories at a campfire and how they form and change during time until they become stagnated to something fixed. And then I was thinking of doing something which was opposed to this and to keep the story "alive" for as long as possible. And to surprise even myself with this thing.
In the end the story will then be fixed, but with any luck the joints will show and it'll have this clear history of becoming. Maybe.

Things seem to always slow down at this stage. One pg left to do, then color to front cover, then club page. And the 2-3 text additions/corrections. Agh I just want to be done with this issue.

Just finished the final panel of issue 27. Or not quite, I still need to do 2 pages of that guy who interrupts the story from time to time...the Interruptor. And then the few corrections additions to the text. Otherwise it's pretty much done. And now I need to start thinking how I will get this thing to Lahti.

Afterwards

Back from St Petersburg and work kept piling up during my visit. I went eastwards to launch my book Kekkonen in Russian and the trip wasn't a disappointment. Everything went extremely well: the book was launched and the exhibition with Katja Tukiainen was opened at Taiga. Everyone was nice and helpful. I think Boomfest is one of the best festivals in the world.
And now I'm back to work. 3 actual pages left to do of issue 27 and some texts, not too much. And in my mail the material for #26 to go through. Among other things...

Classes are starting and although at this time of year I feel I could do without, it'll be great. Welcome old students (open university) welcome new students ( minor subject). Little by little

Issue...what...27 (?) has started well. Should be done before end of this month. I have some other stuff I need to do at the same time so it hasn't been quite as efficient as it could've been. It's an issue that concludes the themes of part 3 of the book. Issue 28 will then be the silent final issue of part 3.

Discouraging

Discouraging: very few people seem to be interested in buying Läskimooses

Where do these superhero ideas come from?

During these 3 yrs with Läskimooses I've come of with several spin off ideas. Some of these could be classified under "superhero related ideas". In most cases these are no more than a name of the main character. But they are all set in the Läskimooses world. And so far only I know what this Läskimooses world really is.
