Mind

I wouldn't mind starting a sunday strip in the spirit of Flash Gordon after this project. Just noticed that I enjoy drawing these semi naturalistic characters in exotic locations. And really Alex Raymond in Flash Gordon...there's something in the way he draws I can relate to.

Regret

I regret every word I ever said in an interview or otherwise.

Old rule

In 1992 I made myself this rule: work 1:1. That is: draw it the same size it's published. I stuck to this for some time, but with Holmenkollen I started to, well, work smaller. Now since 2012 and Läskimooses I' m back to my old game. And why? Originally maybe I felt that this is more direct approach. And I still do. Maybe some time I should start work larger..maybe.

Know

You know there's a spin-off series of Läskimooses? It's called Tappavat Kädet and it's written and drawn by Leo Kuikka. So far 2 issues out and 3rd in the printer. Only 4 issues in this miniseries and the final issue should be coming out in september time of the comics festival here in Helsinki.

Working with this one has been cool and I would definetely want to try it with someone else. Maybe maybe. Excelsior!

Surprises

I mentioned in one interview that the story keeps surprising me. Now it has done it once more. A new piece to the puzzle just emerged. This one won't be added to the main story but it goes to the book of additions although it's a major thing tying together the stories of the narrator and Adorno Naulastus. These small revelations.
I don't have many expectations that any reader will spot this one story addition. It will probably require a indepth reading. And few people will stay with the book for that long. But it'll be there.
Like the thing I placed in Silvia Regina in plain sight and don't think anyone spotted. In the Lauri Kenttä story there was something, some level hidden. And I worried a bit that it would be too easy to spot. Well to my knowledge it's still as hidden as it ever was. And it's probably not the only secret of that book destined to remain a secret.

Estimate

End of this year I will have 360 pages left of the story, not counting the "notes". I have funding untill end of this year, roughly. Funding... I wouldn't worry so much except that it seems I'm slower when there's this uncertainty.
What about the story? I get very few comments. I think it's proceeding as planned. Do people even suspect there is a story? There is and a pretty straight forward for that matter.
Issue 36 which I'm working on currently... I changed my method. Usually after the script is finished I letter it to the panels. With this issue I 'm proceeding one page at a time. I do have a script but for some reason I haven't lettered it yet. Oh but there's a reason. This issue is really a culmination point of sorts and there's going to happen something with the writing. You'll see.

Plotline

There's one major plotline, one of many, that was started in issue 12. Now in the forthcoming 2 issues it'll be reaching its conclusion...or close to it. A circle closes into a circle.
